Tommy G Dual Lipstick in Fuschia Pink
By Shikha Koli
Skin Type: Dry-combination.
Skin Tone: Medium-dusky.
Have I ever mentioned I love...like luuuuvvv hot pink lips! It is peak summer time here and that’s when all the pink and coral colors start to show up, but since I'm so pink obsessed I wear hot pink lips all around the year. You see it's my staple diet :P.
So this review is on a hot pink fuschia dual liquid lipstick by Tommy G. The co-founder of this blog received this in her February, fab bag 2014. She found the color to shocking and neonish on her, so she passed it on to me, knowing very well that, I am a sucker for bright and bold lip colors.
Price: INR 980/- (10ml),
Available in 22 shades. However, only a handful of the colors got released in India. I do not know why cosmetic companies do that Urghh.
So these lip creams are dual ended.
On one side you get the classic lip applicator brush that you get with most lip
glosses, however it is slightly curved am guessing for easier application. I myself prefer curved or tear shaped applicators. On
the other end of the package you have the transparent gloss with a brush that
you may choose to apply over the color for a more shiny, moisturized and
glamorous look. However, I think applying gloss over the lipstick will make the
color unstable and bleed.

Finger tip swatch |
Adding a picture of the color swatched on my fingertip. According to Goss, a makeup Guru on Youtube, one should swatch lip colors on finger tips and not the back of the hands or wrists to see what the color would actually look like on your lips because our fingers have similar flesh to that of our lips. So, how the color appears on your fingertips is the closest match to what the color payoff on your lips would be. Ever wondered why a certain lippie you bought just doesn't look as good or the same as when you swatched it in the store?? Well now you know why :P Thanku for your great Tip Goss..your are the best!
These lip creams have amazing pigmentation and stay power. You can lick your lips, drink, eat and even kiss ;) but the color will refuse to budge ;). If it does fade it fades evenly, so no worries there. So in all I think these are great for long night outs without having to worry about reapplication. I usually have to remove them after a long night-out with a proper lipstick makeup remover. I tried removing them with plain water just to test it out and to my surprise it stayed put. :) So full marks here!
With gloss on top |
I personally love matte formulations, so I skip the gloss. For those of you who have dry lips and are not into mattes can apply the given gloss on top for extra shine, moisturization and a glamorous look. (see swatch above). However, I feel the gloss makes the otherwise stable lipstick completely unstable. After applying gloss it bleeds, fades and rubs off easily. That is what happened to my hand swatch. So, I would not recommend gloss over these beauties. :(
PROS:
- Available in other colors
- Awesome pigmentation
- Awesome Staying power
- Great formulation
- No smell
CONS:
- Expensive
- Exaggerate fine lines on extremely dry lips. So exfoliate.
I really like these lip creams
especially this color. I find the staying power amazing and that is what I
look for in my lipsticks because I am too lazy and too conscious to keep reapplying.
Would I repurchase them? Yes I would this color as well as the others. :P
I give it a 4.5 kisses out of 5 :-* :-*
:-* :-* :-
I have seen it looks amazing on you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome tip about lipstick swatches. Will try to implement it in my reviews too
@ Tanuja Kelkar: Ya do that..and not only that..whenever you go to buy new lippies make sure to swatch them on your fingertips. Especially those of who have pigmented lips. :)
